Review:
The last night of the year at mickey's lounge was a fun one indeed! A
great large crowd was there in support, and a wonderful festive vibe filled the
entire evening! Matt & Brad's first set was excellent - featuring the debut
(for the feelin' good show) of Matt's classic JUST IN TIME (FOR XMAS TIME), and
a gorgeous rendition of HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE XMAS. Tears were shed in
the audience as matt & brad did very emotional performances of SOMETHING TO
LIVE BY and MATH CLASS.
Leonora's GIRL SANDWICH was fantastic, opening with GIMME,
and a strange little 'foodgasm' Leonora's intense words had the audience in the
palm of her hand till she finished with spoken word metal: PAIN. Matt &
Brads second set was riddled with technical difficulties (such as 5 guitar
strings breaking) so most of the set was done solely on piano. AS I GO ALONG was
particularly beautiful tonight with Rose Record's gorgeous vocals, a solo
performance of WICKED LITTLE TOWN was nice, and Matt & Brad did Tori Amos'
WINTER for an encore in tribute to the season and their dear friend Diana Hooper
moving away.
