Review:
An amazing
show at Micky's lounge. Set one was a brilliant performance, one of the most
solid from Matt & Brad. Kicking things off with a rockin' JULY, bringing
back A SORTA FAIRYTALE into the set, flawless performances of BELIEVE, RED HOT
MAMA, and AS I GO ALONG (with the vocal beauty of rose record), and amazing
performances of newer FG songs WILLOW, SOMEWHERE, LIGHTS UP, and KIDO made set
one very special. Set two, however, was even more special. This was one of the
most elegant sets matt and brad will ever play in their short short sloppy
lives. They were joined onstage by concert violinist Meghan Engel, who without
ever hearing their music played along perfectly. It was amazing to witness! The audience
was in awe! Highlights were RESTITUTION and SAVANA (Meghans solo's were brooding
and heart retching!), and a killer finale was a medley of BOY OBSERVATIONS which
lead into an intense WORTH HIS WHILE which lead into an even more intense
RAINING BLOOD. It was a night to remember!
