Review:
The CD release at the railway club was astounding! HUGE crowd in the legendary club made the night energetic and special! Hazen Rice and Jenn Boyd were the opening acts and set the stage for a powerful evening! Hazen started off with a wild acoustic set using many effects and sounds on his guitar which gave him a full and unique sound that blew the audience away! After that Jenn Boyd blew the audience away again with her monster singing voice! The girl can belt!
Matt's show was one of the best ever! Featuring long time musical partner Brad Pedwell on bass (and acoustic guitar for 2nite, last night i dreamed, and origin of love) and producer/drummer Matt Walsh on the drums! The band sounded powerful and gave Matt a rockin' edge unlike anything he'd ever done to date! Kicking the show off with an extraordinary, screamy performance of HALLOWEEN, following that up with an equally powerful DON'T MAKE A SOUND with Jenn and Brad doing amazing backup vocals!
A fast paced, groovy GRACIOUS followed, and then the full on metal bass for MY SKIING TRIP! BOY OBSERVATIONS was a highlight complete with triplets on the bass and fast drums. 2NITE featured the elegant vocals of ROSE RECORD which was gorgeous as always. Other highlights were the total punk-out OH GIRL which really got the audience moving, the funk-rock of HEADACHE, and the grand finale - JULY - one of Matt's first songs ever and a very vigorous closing number.
