Review:
This Friday night found Matt back in an old school performance at night
shift! Just Matt at the Keyboard and Ian Malinski on the guitar/bass brought
back the stripped down, yet loud sound that Matt is known for originally. This
long set lasted over 45 minutes, and was a treat for the small audience at
Thompson! Matt kicked off the show solo with a rousing RED HOT MAMA, then TAKE
ME FAR AWAY. Ian joined on stage with WORTH HIS WHILE kicking the show into
higher gear. Matt played a loud, fun sequenced OH GIRL, and a kicking, vicious
performance of TROUBLED. He also debuted a new song THE COUNTRY SONG and Ian
played the Xylophone on the closing number – a cover of Cat Stevens’ THE WIND.
Other acts included Starlit and Ether’s Void!
