Review:
FIFTY SHOWS AT NUMBERS! ALL that glitters is
gold! Tonight's show was a huge celebration, a lot of people put a lot of work
and effort into it, and it all paid off. This was easily the best and biggest
show we've had at numbers yet! Thank you to everyone for all the hard work!
There were three full sets performed tonight, two keyboards,
a cello, two guitars, drums, many singers, and amazing performances. The bar was
filled with gorgeous gold decorations that really made the place look stunning!
Also we had two amazing hosts (Trish Trash and Kyle) who let the audience and
performers seamlessly through the evening!
The show started solid with Matt performing a crowd favourite
ALL THE GIRLS IN THE WORLD solo. This was followed by an amazing performance of
GRACIOUS with Chris on the djembe, and Kacie on keyboards and backups. Devon
joined the stage to play guitar on an energetic performance of JULY. Byron and
Christopher then did a gorgeous segment featuring the cello where they performed
The Beatles' IN MY LIFE and LANGUAGE from shortbus. Tara Taylor performed in a
gorgeous see-through blouse and sang a saucy version of Tori Amos' LEATHER, as
well as her original LONELY DAYS. Helen Rose looked and sounded incredible on
NEED SOMEONE and SUMMERTIME. Byron played cello and Rose Record sang on the
final song of the first set - a touching performance of 2NITE.
The second set was great featuring Stephen Emery and Jenn
Boyd - Jenn rocked on Concrete Blonde's JOEY and really got the crowd going!
Kacie performed a beautiful BARE WALLED SANCTUARY, and Uncle Johnny took the
stage in a gold mask for a fabulous version of David Bowie's MAN WHO SOLD THE
WORLD. Set two finished with Matt, Byron, and Christopher doing an intense
HALLOWEEN.
The third and final set of the evening was very fun - it
started out with the wonderful hosts Trish and Kyle giving away many prizes to
the audience members who were sporting gold for the evening! Matt started the
set (with the help of Devon) with a few favourites - A SONG 4 U,
INSECURE/IMMATURE, HOT WHITE CUM, and FUCK AND RUN. Kacie and Christopher also
joined for a few amazing tunes, and then the set finished with a very rockin',
jammed out performance of SLOW & PAINFUL DEATH OF MATTHEW PRESIDENTE featuring
Jenn Boyd on the guitar.
Of course the encore was a love-fest - - - GLORY OF LOVE,
SEASONS OF LOVE, and HALLELUJAH (which features all of the performers on stage
singing and playing) a beautiful way to end a beautiful night!
