Review:
Matt's first performance kicking off a weekly night of live music at
the Village Pub was a total hit! Two 45 minute full band sets were played and
both were filled with energy and surprises! To cater to the pub crowd, Matt and
his band included many interesting covers in tonight's show - Led Zeppelin's
"Whole lotta love" was a hit with the crowd; wild bass, and great piano solos.
Billy Joel's "Movin' Out"; a totally wicked transformation - powerful vocals and
a fun beat - this is a song Matt and the band will probably cover more in the
future. Other covers of the night included Garth Brooks "Friends in Low Places",
Waylon Jennings "Amanda", Pedro the Lion "Big Trucks", David Allen Coe "Please
come to Boston", Sublime "What I got", and the Beatles "Let it Be" to name a
few. Of course these were all interspersed with Matt's own material - solid
powerful performances through the opening of the fun, upbeat "Red Hot Mama" to
the powerful closing number "The Country Song" Look out for more shows soon at
the Village Pub!
