I’m excited to introduce my next single, ‘The Other Side’ expected June 7th, 2024. This is the first of two ballads from the album and it’s got a special place in my heart. 4 years ago we lost my dad and this song is a tribute to him and the people in my life who are no longer with us. It’s sad song, but also a celebration of friendship, family and connection that goes beyond this world.
It was conceived on a roadtrip travelling over the mountains of BC. It brought me back to memories of family trips growing up all of the adventures along the way. It reminds me that even though each trip has a beginning and an end, there is always another trip to look forward to. We recorded it on the full grand piano at Hipposonic Studio and finished it at Rain City Recorders with Matt Roach. This is an intimate recording with little other production than the beautiful voice and cello of Byron Hanson who really helped me get to the emotion of the song. I can’t wait for you to hear this one… and hey, if ballads aren’t your thing, don’t worry – your summer banger is coming next!
