🌈 RAINBOW TREE 🌈 My latest single was recently released on Friday, November 1st (my birthday!!) . It will be the last single released leading up to my full new album January 2025! This is a special song, tapping into the roots of queer history. As our colours evolve I look to my community and my family tree to share our stories, pay respect to the past and seek guidance for the future. I’m communicating with my ancestors, getting closer to nature and uuuuugggghhh…. getting older!
Showcasing the grand piano, this song features powerful voices by local artists Leo D. E. Johnson and Cale Tian. We also have the amazing Dann Feltrin (making the guitar SING) and lifetime friend Ian Malinski holding down the bass – he’s one my greatest allies, and our roots run deep.
We recorded the grand piano at Hipposonic Studios, with Liam Moes at the helm – and the piano sounds huge! The finishing touches were completed at Rain City Recorders to fill out the bass, warm synths and get the most intimate vocals we could manage. Expertly mixed by Matt Roach and mastered by Brock at CPS Mastering, I’m proud of the final product – an epic song.
Yes, it’s a bit longer than what you might be used to, but it’s a two-parter and the layered build in the second half is going to be worth the wait. Check out the new song ‘Rainbow Tree’ ✨ .
