Along with the new single, Sungold (released July 7th, ’23), I’ve been busy with an amazing summer of music! This year, the stress of pandemic-related restrictions are less of a concern and venues have been operating with full capacity. The crowds have been back! Some hi lights from my summer:
- Pride Pride Pride: I was lucky enough to perform several pride festivals this summer including Kelowna Pride, Surrey Pride, New West Pride, Fraser Valley Pride and a headlining slot of North Shore Pride. These performances are always special and it’s wonderful to see a new generation of queer people enjoying the music.
- Numbers Social Sundays: Each Sunday this summer I performed a ‘all-request style’ piano bar show at the beautiful Numbers Cabaret patio. The show ran from 3pm-6pm and the crowd had some amazing (and crazy!) requests! The BBQ was going, the bar was rockin’ and over 11 Sundays we raised over $2000 for QMUNITY trans youth.
- Red Bird: My friend Tara C Taylor came to visit this summer from Berlin. For the first time in 5 years we were able to perform together. We planned a special show at the iconic Red Bird in Kelowna where we did a set of acoustic originals and debuted new material from our ‘dance pop’ side project MT805.
- White Caps: Performing in front of BC Stadium for a crowd of thousands for the “White Caps Pride Day” was one for the books!
